Season's Givings Blog Hop 2016

As the clock strikes midnight and 2016 dawns bright and full of possibility I want to start this most auspicious year with heartfelt thanks.

You have all been the greatest cheerleaders, friends, problem solvers and idea generators an artist could ever ask for and I'm grateful for how you've all supported my Etsy, this blog and all the weird tangents I tend to wander off and explore.

Thank you. Today and always.

A giveaway is in order!

This Season's Giving Blog Hop is a way for us to say thank you to you, kind readers, and every single blog on the hop is hosting a giveaway! HOORAY!!!

And can I shout out to the tireless and talented organizer, Latisha Yoast, she's the reason this happens each year.

I decided to make shipping easy on both of us and offer an gift card to Joann.

The winner will be announced on Monday January 11th.

To enter all you need to do is answer one of these questions:

1. What's your favorite special beverage?
2. One Little Word; what's yours for 2016?
3. Marry/Kiss/Kill: Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt and Liam Neeson
4. Best way to cook a potato?
5. What's your favorite quote?

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite projects from 2015:

Here's the list for the hop.

Have fun and happy New Year!

1. What's your favorite special beverage? Salted Caramel Mocha :-)

2. One Little Word; what's yours for 2016? Perseverance

3. Marry/Kiss/Kill: kiss:Channing Tatum, Marry:Chris Pratt and Liam Neeson (I can't put a kill one!)

4. Best way to cook a potato? Baked potatoes

5. What's your favorite quote? "The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!"

Oops, I forgot to say my favorite beverage is the special Christmas drink. I make it every year, allegedly for the kids, but all the adults drink it up too! I freeze orange juice and a red juice. It's usually cranberry, but this year I used tart cherry juice. One year it was bing cherry juice that I saved when we put up a bunch of cherries. Put 2-3 of each ice cube in a glass and pour your favorite clear soda over it. I usually use ginger ale, but have used 7-up or sprite, or even plain carbonated water. It's best if your soda is at room temp so the cubes melt a little to mix the flavors! My grandkids are the 3rd generation to imbibe this family tradition.

Favorite way to fix potatoes is cut up some Idaho potatoes (try to keep them all the same size). Then put them in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and microwave until nearly done. Next put a little olive oil (tablespoon or two) in a frying pan until hot. Drop microwaved potatoes in oil, tossing and cooking until done and lightly browned. Sprinkle with salt and enjoy. It's home fries which are healthier (not cooked in lots of oil) and taste good! Thanks for your giveaway. Hope your New Year is filled with crafty goodness. :)

Happy New Year!! My word for 2016 is RELAX. I tend to stress myself out by getting worked up about trivial matters (though at the time they don't seem trivial), so I constantly need to remind myself to slow down and relax

I love your blog. I mean I really, really love it. You seem to consistently post, from what I can see. I was with you on the tutorial until you go to the giveaway instructions and until you got to the collaging part of the tutorial. I enjoyed visiting your blog a lot.

1. What's your favorite special beverage? Caramel Flan Latte? (I've stopped drinking cocktails b/c of liver issues)
2. One Little Word; what's yours for 2016? Evolve. It comes around every few years and when it does I pick it again.
3. Marry/Kiss/Kill: Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt and Liam Neeson. Well, I'd marry Chris Pratt, kiss Channing Tatum, and seriously, you think anyone could kill Liam Neeson? I think not.
4. Best way to cook a potato? I like over roasting red potatoes with olive oil and rosemary.
5. What's your favorite quote?
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Remember, you asked for this. ;)

What's your favorite special beverage? When I have a sore throat, a drink called Gugl Mugl (pronounced like "google moogle", which is in Yiddish) is the best. It's made from hot milk, honey, egg, and done put in rum, though I tend to go the non-alcoholic route.
2. One Little Word; what's yours for 2016? Heal
3. Marry/Kiss/Kill: Simon Baker/Charlie Hunnam/Gustaf Skarsgard
4. Best way to cook a potato? Mashed or I LOVE scalloped potatoes
5. What's your favorite quote? I have many but this one came to mind "You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." Thanks for the chance to win this awesome prize and fun questions!

Oh I love the projects you shared, especially the bulk Valentines, but truly everything! My favorite quote is "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle". It has been my tag line in my emails since 2005 and I try to remember it everyday , especially when I meet someone who is acting angry or upset. Thank you for participating in this blog hop and for the generous gift card giveaway. Happy New Year to you.

Happy New Year! Your art work is so pretty.

Fave drink (since coffee, lovely coffee, gives me headaches) is Carnation hot chocolate with a chai tea bag. Since the caffeine is in the black chai tea, thankfully, I have found a roobios alternative which is pretty darn close.

Thank you for sharing! :)

Marry/Kiss/Kill: My husband/that Irish actor who is the biggest tart in the world but is super sexy anyway even though I can't possibly remember his name/Donald Trump

The best way to cook a potato- my grandmother made me a sort of pouch which is sewn together. All you need to do is wash the potato. Wrap it in a paper towel. Put it in the pouch and microwave on high for 8-10 minutes. You can do one large, two medium or about three small. They come out awesome! Just cut it with a fork, no knife needed!
Thank you very much for sharing and participating in this blog hop and Happy New Year!!
